Chibobo, Zambia
St Mary’s supports an orphanage in Chibobo, Zambia, situated in a remote part of Zambia approximately six hours drive from the capital Lusaka. The Orphanage cares for 60 orphans on site as well as hundreds of other orphans, vulnerable children and widows living in the surrounding district. St Mary’s, in conjunction with Overnewton Anglican Community College is specifcially involved in assisting with the orphan’s schooling, medical needs, welfare as well as supporting the local community with a sewing group (the Koala Club), the training of mechanics, the collection and distribution of bicycles, Biblical Leadership Training and other projects. St Mary’s conducts formal Mission Trips to the Chibobo Orphanage every 2nd year.
